Ms. Komura, Head of the Organizing Committee, said ALFS charity bazaar is an annual event organized with the aim of raising money for charity and relief work, helping women and children in the member countries of ALFS.

The proceeds from the charity bazaar will be divided equally among the participating countries in order to positively contribute to charities for women and children in the member countries. Over the past years, member countries of ALFS, including Vietnam, have participated very actively in the society.

The 40th charity bazaar is the largest bazaar of ALFS in order to enhance friendship and promote exchanges among the member countries. In the framework of the bazaar, the host country of Japan, embassies of member countries of ALFS and dozens of charity organizations exhibited and sold handicrafts, food and confectionery, which are famous in their countries.

Ms. Hoang Thi Minh Ha, spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, said that Vietnam has two kiosks, one displaying traditional handicraft products such as silk, gemstone mosaic painting and embroidery painting in silk, and another introducing the traditional cuisine culture of Vietnam.

Like other years, Vietnam’s kiosks attracted a large number of visitors.

Ms. Ha also announced that the sum of nearly VND200 million distributed by ALFS to the Vietnamese Women’s Association after last year’s charity bazaar had been used to build a school for children of Agent Orange in Vietnam

As the plan, the sum of money from the bazaar this year will be used to help poor children in difficult regions in Vietnam./.
