Training course about Vietnamese teaching for overseas Vietnamese teachers

The State Commission on Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a training course about teaching Vietnamese for 40 overseas Vietnamese teachers to raise professional qualifications and popularize the Vietnamese teaching curriculum abroad.


The trainees come from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Taiwan (China), Switzerland, Canada, France, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania.

The course, which is taking place from August 11th - 28th, is conducted by leading Vietnamese language professors with the content of the program based on the curriculum for overseas Vietnamese as complied by MOET.

Speaking at the opening ceremony in Hanoi on August 11th, Mr. Vu Hong Nam, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the State Commission on Overseas Vietnamese, emphasized the training program provided an good opportunity for the participants to meet and exchange experiences about the situation of teaching and learning Vietnamese language abroad as well as help the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant agencies to take more effectively measures to further promote and develop the teaching and learning of Vietnamese language abroad.

Mr. Nam hoped that after the training course, the participants would supplement to the core force of Vietnamese teachers for the overseas Vietnamese community, contributing to the implementation of Resolution 36-NQ/TW of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese.

MOET Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga also released that MOET was continuing to develop a project on enhancing the efficiency of Vietnamese language teaching and learning abroad, including the curriculum appropriate to a large number of pupils and more actively support teachers teaching Vietnamese language abroad.

While Nguyen Van Pha, Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, confirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front would make the utmost effort to support Vietnamese teaching abroad, thereby contributing to building the overseas Vietnamese community strongly and preserving Vietnamese language and culture.

Mr. Hoang Duc Ha, a teacher teaching Vietnamese language in Cambodia, thanked the local agencies for organizing such significant training course, saying that it helps to maintain and preserve Vietnamese culture through Vietnamese teaching for Vietnamese children abroad.

Ms Anke Fridel-Nguyen, a lecturer at Humboldt University, Germany, said that she was very honored to join the training course. Apart from learning more effective teaching methods to apply for many people and different ages, she also wants to learn from domestic trainers and colleagues about selecting curriculum and documents to further improve Vietnamese teaching effectiveness.

During the course, the trainees are planned to attend a seminar on teaching and learning Vietnamese language for overseas Vietnamese community and visit the landscapes of the country./.
